Pancake Heaven

For those of you with small children, pancakes can be a sticky, gooey nightmare, but don't they taste amazing?  Pancakes tend to leave a lasting impression on children.  They are something that even as adults we still love and want to eat whenever they are available.  Last weekend we were asked to cater a pancake breakfast for Woodmont Christian Church.  Let me first say, these people are incredibly kind and we had great time at this event.  We got there at the crack of dawn and served 300 pancakes to the church members and loved every minute of it.  The impressive thing about their order was that they knew that there were going to be a lot of children coming to this breakfast, yet they still braved the great chocolate, strawberries, and whipped cream topping stations.  We feared for the church service and to our astonishment, the children were so well behaved!

We had an amazing time at Woodmont Christian Church and can't wait to go back again. Below are some pictures from the event. Please enjoy!

Sometimes a ladle isn't the fastest way to get the pancake batter out of the mixing bowl.  Sarah figured that out pretty fast and boy are we grateful to her.

Food in the Movies

Today we got to discussing our favorite food related movies.  Movies that incorporate food can have all sorts of an effect on people.  Movies such as Waitress make you want to march into your pantry and whip up a pie.  Eat, Pray, Love gives you the feeling that Italians have had it right all along.

In the course of our discussion Ratatouille came up.  For those of you who have never heard of this wonderful movie, it is an animated movie about a boy in France who learns to cook from a rat.  Yes, who wouldn't want a rat to teach them to cook?  The unanimous decision that we all came to was that this movie was appropriate for all ages, and by all ages we really meant it.  It was one of those animated movies that even the adults WANTED to see.  It made fun of angry chefs and made you hungry all at the same time.  Below is one of our favorite clips from the movie.

Getting to know you

In honor of our new blog I am going to start off by introducing staff members to you in various posts.  I am not sure if it will be each week, each day, or each month.  So be patient but be excited!

Let me start off by introducing myself, the voice of this blog.  My name is Maggie and I love Alabama football, my dog and food.  My coworkers don't trust me with a knife so now... I write.

Apparently I have been found out.  So what? I sneak cookies...
My hopes for this blog are that you will get to see what we are really like.  I love the people that I work with and we love what we do.  Every day is an adventure and I hope that our readers will get a chance to see that.

Hello World!

We have recently decided to use this site as our new blog home and we can't tell you how excited we are!  If you are an old friend than you will know that a lot has changed over the last few months here at J&M and this blog is an extension to that change.  We are hoping that this can better keep our old friends, as well as our new, up to date with what is going on in our world.  Please keep checking in to see our posts!
